Explore our culture
We strive every day to create a culture that is inclusive, collaborative, and enriching for all our employees. We understand that choosing your next career is about more than finding a job that utilizes your talent—it's about finding a workplace that builds an environment where you can thrive, feel welcome, and grow.

Building an inclusive campus
Our biggest asset is our workforce, and we're proud to be a place that employees from all backgrounds can call home. Science thrives on innovation, and the key to our innovative success is our diversity, allowing people to use their individual experiences to bring new insights and solutions to the table. When you work here, you belong.
Our employee resource groups are one way we put our diversity and inclusion goals into action. We sponsor and support the following employee resource groups:
- Abilities Champions (AC)
- African American Body of Laboratory Employees (ABLE)

Contributing to our greater community
Community engagement is a big aspect of our culture. We are honored to take part in community outreach programs each year, including charitable giving, educational activities, and efforts to make STEM more accessible and inclusive. See a brief glimpse of our community engagement and education efforts below.
Discovery Center
Our on-site Discovery Center is the perfect way for us to share our research with a wider audience and to inspire young minds. Every year, we welcome thousands of elementary school students and teachers to tour the Discovery Center and interact with our immersive exhibits—all free of charge.
Community Giving
We give back to the community through various annual programs, such as the Helping Others More Effectively (HOME) campaign and the Lawrence Livermore National Security (LLNS) Community Gift Program. Visit the LLNS website for more information.
Science Education
We host many science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) outreach activities, including Science on Saturday (a series of lectures given by LLNL researchers for middle and high school students), Science on Screen, summer student workshops, and the Teacher Research Academy.
Campus Tours
Our free site tours give visitors up-close views of the National Ignition Facility (NIF), the National Atmospheric Release Advisory Center (NARAC), and the Center for Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (CAMS). These tours bring community awareness of our research (and inspire future generations in STEM, too).
