Pay Range

$89,670 - $133,524 Annually

$89,670 - $111,324 Annually for the E06.2 Level

$107,550 - $133,524 Annually for the E06.3 Level 

Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. Many factors are taken into consideration when setting starting pay including education, experience, the external labor market, and internal equity.

Job Description

We have multiple openings for W87-1 Modification (MOD) Program Hardware Managers. You will manage the Material Resource Schedule (MRS) to identify hardware deliverables from multiple technical teams including Product Realization Teams (PRTs) and System Test teams to support component, subassembly, and system level development and qualification tests. These positions are in the Defense Technologies Engineering Division (DTED) within the Engineering Directorate and will support the W87-1 MOD program. 

This position will be filled at either level based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.

You will 

  • Lead and conduct meetings with technical staff to evaluate and track hardware quantities and fidelity as well as planned hardware delivery schedules for test activities.
  • Support regular releases of an updated MRS via configuration management of hardware data.
  • Support the effort to document and track all incoming hardware and hardware packages into the W87-1 storage area.
  • Collaborate closely with software developers to improve hardware planning and inventory software, ensuring successful execution and alignment to business goals and objectives.
  • Work independently to perform intermediate level analysis of data and reporting to facilitate hardware allocation and spares management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional job responsibilities, at the E06.3 level

  • Maintain robust communications, collaborations, and contacts, internal and external to LLNL in support of MRS deliverables. Ensure risks and issues are communicated in an effective and timely manner to senior leadership.
  • Monitor the progress of tracking incoming hardware, identify and address any process gaps, and recommend actions and alternatives that could improve hardware coordination.
  • Perform complex analysis of data as required, identifying data sources for the delivery of specialized reports.

Qualifications

  • Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant functional discipline or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of business analysis techniques for process improvement.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience applying related practices to user interface design and implementation.
  • Intermediate understanding of best practices for managing inventory and has experience applying practices/policies and/or regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced experience using MS Office business applications and web-based collaborative platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Excel, and/or Visio.

Additional qualifications at the E06.3 level

  • Knowledge and experience applying project management methodologies in developing and executing project plans, including demonstrated negotiation skills.
  • Significant experience in use of advanced reporting and summarizing complex data for support in the development of specialized reporting.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills necessary to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, customers, suppliers, and management.

Qualifications We Desire

  • Familiarity with procurement and/or inventory management.
  • Familiarity with Project Management tools and Earned Value Management.
