Journey to the moon via ‘Science on Saturday’

WHO: LLNL scientist Lars Borg and Granada High School teacher Tom Shefler will present “Return to Apollo: Geologic Evolution of a Young Moon,” the first lecture in the 2020 Science on Saturday series that delves into the mysteries of space.

WHAT: This talk will cover the ages of samples returned by the Apollo space missions from 1969 to 1972 and how they constrain the origin and evolution of the Earth’s moon.

WHEN: Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020

  • First presentation: 9:30 a.m.
  • Second presentation: 11:15 a.m.
