WHAT: Computers are becoming an increasingly cheaper, more powerful tool that cannot be ignored by professionals. Computer simulation reproduces the behavior of natural- and man-made systems to help us understand, predict and communicate. In the first of four educational talks, presenters will demonstrate how computer simulations are being used by researchers at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) to explore nature on the world's fastest computers.
WHEN: Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014
Session I: 9:30 a.m.
Session II: 11:15 a.m.
WHERE: Bankhead Theater, 2400 First St., Livermore.
NOTE: Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis; there is no pre-registration. Directions, maps and a complete list of lectures are available on the Science on Saturday We bsite.
