2008 Science on Saturday series: A hit in Livermore

The Tri-Valley Science on Saturday series held at Livermore’s Bankhead Theater came to a close last Saturday with the lecture, "Protecting the Nation’s Livestock: Corralling Foreign Diseases," by Pamela Hullinger, LLNL scientist, and Patti Carothers, Monte Vista High School teacher. More than 850 people attended.

The lectures were well received, with nearly 5,000 attendees during the five week series. For more information about Science on Saturday, go to the Web.

LLNS presents checks to Livermore and Tracy school districts

Lawrence Livermore National Security, LLC (LLNS) awarded checks in the amount of $25,000 each to the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District and the Tracy Unified School District in March. The checks are in support of science and math education.
