Media Advisory: 'Science on Saturday' lecture looks at fusion and creating a sun on Earth
WHO: Lawrence Livermore scientist Tammy Ma and teacher Tom Shefler of Granada High School will present "Harnessing Fusion: Creating a Sun on Earth," the third lecture in the 2016 Science on Saturday series. The series theme is "Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)."
WHAT:: This informative and entertaining lecture will focus on the engineering aspect of STEM and will describe how scientists and engineers at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory’s National Ignition Facility, the world’s largest and most energetic laser, are working to demonstrate sustainable fusion burn, the same reaction that occurs in the sun.

WHEN: Bankhead Theater, 2400 First St., Livermore.
NOTE: The lectures and demonstrations are sponsored by LLNL's Science Education Program, open to the public and specifically targeted to middle and high school students.
