Unleash your inner scientist at AT&T Park on Saturday during the Bay Area Science Festival

Calling all budding scientists and engineers: The Bay Area Science Festival returns to AT&T Park in San Francisco on Saturday, Nov. 7.

The 5^th annual Discovery Day at AT&T Park features hundreds of activities to test your knowledge of basic science and get up to your elbows in interactive experiments. Once again, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory will have three displays, located on the promenade level.

Each year Discovery Day features an array of hands-on exhibits, experiments, games and stage demonstrations from laboratories, universities and businesses, all designed to inspire the next generation of great minds. Last year more than 30,000 people attended.

The event, with more than 150 exhibitors, takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is free of charge.

Lawrence Livermore will feature an interactive, avatar-hosted game to test basic scientific know-how, and a special energy bike that will challenge participants’ peddle power and gauge just how much wattage it takes to keep a household going. Also returning is the popular "Fun With Science" interactive presentations, which demonstrate scientific principles and describe how the Lab uses these phenomena in its daily work.

"The Laboratory is proud to be returning to Discovery Day to help inspire and educate young minds through hands-on encounters in science and engineering -- all which help demystify technology for kids and motivate them to pursue STEM careers," said Lab Director Bill Goldstein.
