'Expanding Your Horizons' conference for girls comes to University of the Pacific on Saturday

eyh (Download Image) Expanding Your Horizons is a daylong conference that introduces girls in grades 6-12 to a variety of challenging careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics through hands-on workshops.

Who: Lawrence Livermore National Security, LLC, Sandia National Laboratories and the University of the Pacific School of Engineering and Computer Science are co-sponsoring the 23rd annual San Joaquin Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) conference. See the website.

What: The popular daylong conference introduces girls in grades 6-12 to a variety of challenging careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) through hands-on workshops. Approximately 500 girls representing 140 schools in San Joaquin and Stanislaus counties and 200 volunteers are expected to attend the conference. See the schedule.

When: Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015, 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
