Las Positas College to host annual Tri-Valley 'Expanding Your Horizons' conference

Who: More than 300 girls in grades 6-9 will gather to meet scientists and engineers and explore careers in math and science at the 37th annual Tri-Valley Expanding Your Horizon’s Conference.

What: The Tri-Valley Expanding Your Horizons Conference is an annual event geared to increase interest and foster awareness of careers in math and science. This year’s theme is "A Window Into Your Future." At the conference, girls will participate in hands-on workshops, a special group activity and a career fair. The conference also provides young women opportunities to meet and interact with positive role models who are actively engaged in math and science-related careers.

When: Saturday, Feb. 28
            8:30 a.m.–3 p.m.

Where: Las Positas College Gymnasium, 3000 Campus Hill Drive, Livermore.

The conference is coordinated by volunteers from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratories/California, Las Positas College and the Association of University Women.
