William ‘Bill’ Wilcox

Willliam “Bill” Wilcox died Feb. 5. He was 78.

Wilcox was born in Wisconsin on Jan. 28, 1942, and grew up in Livermore, until retiring on Kauai in 2010. After graduating from Santa Clara University, he worked at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory for 40 years, much of the time in the Laser Division.

After moving to Kauai, he studied island history and became a tour guide at the Kauai Museum and Grove Farm Museum, and joined the Kauai Historical Society, of which he was president for two years.

He was preceded in death by parents Roy and Leah Wilcox. He is survived by wife Donna; sons Rick and David and their spouses; grandchildren Dalynn and Karra Wilcox; sister Judith and brother Michael.

His family is grateful to the many angels at Kauai Hospice for the warm caregiving they provided him. Any donations may be made to that organization.

A celebration of life, originally scheduled for March 28, is postponed until later in the year.
