Richard T. Maney

Richard (Dick) Thomas Maney of Livermore died Oct. 1. He was 82.

Maney was born in Chesterton, Indiana, on Aug. 31, 1934, where he lived until joining the US Air Force. He was an optical engineer who finished his career at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. He enjoyed flying, skiing, golf and spending time on numerous projects with his family and friends.

He was married for 56 years to his loving wife Juleann (Jo) who passed away in 2013. He is survived by his two daughters, Sharon and Barbara; son-in-law Randy‎; and niece Judy. He has four grandchildren: Sammy, Lauran, Sean and Mike and eleven great-grandchildren.

Maney was a kind and generous man, with a fantastic sense of humor and love of life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Friends and family are invited to a celebration of his life on Sunday, Oct. 9 from 12:30 to 4 p.m. at Robert Livermore Community Center, 4444 East Ave‎, Livermore, California.

Maney requested any donations be made to a charity of choice.
