Gregory William Howard Sr.

Gregory William Howard Sr. of Brentwood passed away on June 17, 2018 surrounded by his family.

Howard was married to his wife, Michele. They met in Hawaii and were married for 33 years. Howard’s complete devotion was to his family and making sure they were happy, healthy and safe.

Howard knew a lot, especially when it came to science, nature and animals. His green thumb was unmatched and a true testament to his ability to nurture. He was a nature boy, a jokester, a genius and a storyteller.

Howard was on a SWAT team, trained members of the Oakland Raiders, invented a groundwater pump for the government and was one of the top 100 reptile handlers in the world.

He inspired everyone he met with his imagination, creativity and lightheartedness.

Howard is survived by loving wife, Michele; and his two children, Samantha and Gregory William Howard Jr, (Alison).  He also leaves behind his mother, Lillian Howard, and six siblings. He was a son-in-law to Gloria Holmberg and was loved by every member of his Holmberg family. He will be missed by his friends who loved and admired him for his quick wit and passion for everyone around him.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, at St. Anne’s church in Byron.
