Greg Greenman

Greg Greenman

Greg Greenman, a long-time member of the B-Division Computational Physics group, died the first week of January. He was 60.

Greenman came to LLNL in 1986 from Argonne National Laboratory where he worked on advanced nuclear reactor design. He received his Ph.D  in nuclear engineering from MIT with a specialization in reactor physics.

While at Livermore, Greenman worked on a wide variety of science and engineering challenges, including particle and radiation transport, NIF energy programs and other code-development projects associated with the Stockpile Stewardship Program.

Family, friends and WCI colleagues will remember Greenman as a gentle, sweet man with a fondness for puns and double entendres, enjoyment of his cats and his love of music. His hearty laughter will be missed in the halls of B Division.

Greenman is survived by his father, H. R. Greenman; his sister and brother-in-law, Pamela and Scott Webb; and a niece and nephew, Randall and Courtney Webb. Greenman’s sister Pam expressed deep appreciation for the outpouring of support and help she received from the Laboratory community since her brother's passing.

Interment is at the Van Hoosen Jones Cemetery in Rochester, Michigan. Contributions in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Online guestbook. See more at Legacy.
