Curtis R. Brown

Curtis Ray (Curt) Brown died Nov. 26. He was 86.

Brown was born Feb. 8, 1929 in Chandler, Oklahoma and served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He married his wife, Clara, in 1951.

Brown worked at Southern Pacific Railroad before going to work at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory where he was a machine tool Repair Supervisor. He retired in 1985.

He was a long time resident of the Bay Area and in 1985 he moved to Denair, California.

Brown was a founding member of the East Bay Hi-Tailers’ Dune Buggy Club, and a longtime member of the Modesto Ridge Runners Dune Buggy Club. He was also a life time member of the California Off-Road Vehicle Association (CORVA).

He loved off-roading, building dune buggies, working in his shop, helping people and spending time with family.

Brown is preceded in death by his wife, Clara. He is survived by his son, Steven Brown, of Ohio; daughter, Carol Repetto (Doug), of Denair; grandchildren, Brandon Repetto (Christina), of Las Vegas, Renee Hall (Jordan), of Denair, and Dieter Schweininger (Christine), of Modesto and great-grandchildren, Seth and Blake Hall, Madison, Bradley, and Olivia Repetto, and Vaun and Brenna Schweininger.

A memorial service will be held Monday, Dec. 21 at 1 p.m. in the Turlock Funeral Home Chapel, 425 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock, California.
