Betty Piper

Betty Piper died April 3. She was 86.

Piper was born on April 23, 1933 to Alva B. Turner and Genevieve (Jane) Krauss in Hollywood. She served as an administrative assistant in several Department of Energy facilities, retiring from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Rocky Flats National Laboratory.

She is survived by her three children: Tim Piper (Susan) of Oro Valley, Arizona; Terri Isaacs of Shelby, North Carolina; and Tom Piper (Lori) of Pleasanton; as well as six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and her sister Lorrie Garpner (Erik) of Huntington Beach.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date when current social gathering restrictions allow. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes contributions be made to Hospice Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, North Carolina, 28150.
