William Duguid

William Alexander Duguid, a Lab retiree and resident of Livermore, died March 22. He was 86.

Born Feb. 1, 192, in Phoenix, Ariz., he moved to California with his family at an early age. His parents first moved to the Los Angeles area before settling in Hayward where Duguid was raised, graduating from Hayward Union High School in 1943.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Mildred Duguid in June 1951. The couple lived in Hayward before moving to Livermore in 1963.

Duguid worked at the Lab for 35 years.

He is survived by his son, Mark and his wife, Claire; son, Russell and his wife, Margaret, and grandchildren, Kevin, Aislinn, Cheyenne and Sierra.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 28, at 6 p.m., with the rosary/vigil at 7 p.m. at St. Michael's Church, 458 Maple St., Livermore. A funeral mass will be conducted Thursday, March 29, at 10 a.m. at St. Michae'sl Church followed by graveside ceremony at St. Michael's Cemetery, 3885 East Ave, Livermore, with a reception following.
