Wallace Davis

Wallace Davis of Livermore died Friday, June 21 in Walnut Creek after a courageous 24 year battle with Leukemia. He was 67.

Davis was born March 24, 1946 to Pearline Davis and Ernest Snelling, both of Moultrie GA, where he was raised, the eldest of 10 children. He is survived by: his father, Ernest Snelling; son Jamaal Risser; daughter Nequisha McCarthy; son-in-law Michael McCarthy; daughter-in-law Martha Sexton; grandchildren Kaden McCarthy, Brandon McCarthy and Cassius Risser; nine brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

Davis left Georgia in 1966 and attended Job Corps in Pleasanton, Calif. from 1966-1968. He spent a few years in New York, then returned to Livermore to raise a family. He worked at the Laboratory for 13 years. Working at LLNL was his favorite job because he met so many wonderful friends with whom he kept in contact through the years.

Davis was a devoted member of Jubilee Tri Valley Church. He was a kindred spirit to all who knew him. He had a passion for living, and touched many lives just by being himself. His hobbies and interests included hanging out at Panama Bay Coffee Shop; spending time with his grandchildren; shopping at the Berkeley flea market; supporting the 49ers; the TV show 60 Minutes; and people watching.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 28 at Callaghan Mortuary, 3833 East Avenue, Livermore.
