Virginia "Ginger" Rae Aafedt

Virginia “Ginger” Rae Aafedt of Pleasanton died April 12. She was 79.

Born Dec. 19, 1934, Aafedt was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.  

Aafedt retired from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory as a telephone operator, which she loved. She also enjoyed family time and all the family trips together.

Aafedt is preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Beth Campbell, and her sister, Marjorie Jo Santarpia.

Aafedt is survived by her husband,  Richard “Dick”; children, John (Barbara) Aafedt, Cindy Aafedt, Susan (Ray) Bartlett, Eric (Debbie) Aafedt; grandchildren, Jad and Raven Abousoud, Jinny and David Dvorak, Whitney and David Moore, Hillary Aafedt, Laura England Witt and Ben and Tiffany Parrish; and great-grandchildren, Lindsey, Madden and Jordan.

A celebration of Aafedt's life will be held at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 7557 Amador Valley Boulevard, Dublin, Calif., on Saturday, April 26, at 12 p.m. A reception will follow the service.
