Violet Meta Churchill

Violet Meta Churchill, a former resident of Dublin, died from complications from a stroke on Oct. 23 in San Rafael, Calif. She was 64.

Churchill was born in Minneapolis, Minn. on April 13, 1947.

She moved from Minnesota to Oakland in 1969 and worked for the Bank of America and the Lab while completing her law degree in San Francisco at Golden Gate University.

During this time, she met and married George Churchill and eventually moved toDublin and started her law practice. She advocated for many clients and friends for more than 20 years.

Churchill had a sense of humor and warm and outgoing personality. Family and friends were her first love, followed closely by her love of dogs. She and her husband George rescued dogs through the ARF shelter in Walnut Creek.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Churchill.

She is survived by her brother, Bob Klock and his wife Peggy of Fairfax, Calif.; her brother-in-law, Karl Churchill and his wife Niki of Patterson, Calif., and nieces, Metha Klock and Gretchen Castets, as well as nephews, Keith and Mark Churchill and Forest O'Neill.
