Tom E. Hamman

Tom E. Hamman, a longtime resident of Modesto, died Feb. 20. He was 82.

He was born on Nov. 21, 1930 in Neshoba, Okla. to Fred and Opal Hamman.

He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked for Cal-Trans for 35 years, and then at LLNL for about 15 years.

Hamman was active in the community. He belonged to the Smyrna Lodge No. 532, where 52 years ago he was a master. He was also a member in Shriners, the Moose Lodge and the Masons of Ceres. He also enjoyed square dancing.

Hamman is survived by his daughter, Teri Jenson of Modesto; his step-daughters, Betty L. Roler and Carol Smith of Modesto; his grandchildren, Sara Haven Draper and Caleb Haven Draper; and his sisters, Peggy Story and Edna Smith of Modesto.

Services were held in Modesto.
