Roy C. Pendley

Roy C. Pendley, a Capitola resident, died Jan. 23. He was 76.

Born in Alabama on June 20, 1936, to Eugene Pendley and Ada Branch, he was raised in Oakland, Calif. and attended Castlemont High School.

He received an AA degree from Cabrillo College. Pendley also spent time living in Anniston, Alabama and Hayward, Livermore, Jackson, and Capitola, California.

He apprenticed at a foundry in Oakland, he was a machinist at LLNL in Livermore, and ended his career as an engineer at Guidant.

Pendley also enjoyed racing sports cars, participating in civil war re-enactments and supporting all the athletic events his children were involved in. He was a member of the Fiat Club of America and a parishioner of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Pendley is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rosalia Pendley; his sons, John, Jim, Clay, Brian, David and Stuart Pendley; and daughters, Michelle Jesse and Lanette Goble; as well as, 21 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
