Roberta Bachman

Bachman was born Nov. 21, 1938, in Stockton, Calif. to Robert and Anna Spear. She was raised in Vallejo, Calif. in the 1950s. She married Teddy Rombough and had two children, Colleen and Steven. They divorced in 1975.

Bachman worked at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory as an executive secretary in the Personnel Department for several years. It was there that she joined a bowling league and met Milton "Bud" Bachman whom she married in 1979. After their retirement in 1980, they moved to the foothills of Pioneer. They lived in Pioneer for about 15 years until Bud's health required them to move to Lodi to be closer to his doctors. After living for a year in Lodi, they moved to Lockeford. Bud passed away on July 25, 2004.

After her husband's passing, Bachman went back to school and received a certificate in medical transcription and worked from home as a medical transcriber for several years.

Bachman was reserved at times and spirited at others. She was a perfectionist in everything she did. When she laughed you couldn't help but laugh with her. She loved her family and was generous to a fault.

She is survived by her daughter and son, Colleen Frick and Steven Rombough; her sister, Sally Hathaway; grandchildren, Heather Williams, Cheri Negrette, Renee Rombough and Melissa Frick; and five great grandchildren.
