Richard T. Peterson

Richard T. Peterson, a retired Lab engineer and longtime Pleasanton resident, died May 31. He was 81.

Born April 16, 1931 in Chicago, he graduated from Boystown in Omaha, Neb. and served in the Navy for four years. After his service in the military he graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in engineering.

He worked as an engineer for 22 years at LLNL.

Peterson had a passion for reading anything with a military or spy theme. He was a collector of many different antiques. He traveled extensively all over the world from Australia to St. Petersburg, Russia and all around the Mediterranean with his wife.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Doris; son Scott, daughter Valerie and grandchildren, Jesse and Miranda.

A memorial service celebrating his life was held June 16 in Pleasanton. Donations may be made in Peterson's name to Odyssey Hospice, 6140 Stoneridge Mall Rd., Ste. 175, Pleasanton, CA 94588 or by using the Website.
