Richard Meyer

Richard Meyer, a retired program manager for the Department of Energy and former Lab employee, died Dec. 26 in Falmouth, Mass. He was 77.

Born in 1933 in Norwood, Mass., Meyer graduated from the University of Illinois in 1963. He served two years in the U.S. Army at the Natick food lab, and was later stationed in Denmark.

Upon returning from Denmark in 1966, he began working at LLNL in the Nuclear Chemistry Division until 1989 when he left to become program manager at DOE.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth R. (Randig) Meyer; three daughters, Mary Keith of Livermore; Marlene Acelar of Tracy, Martha Adams of Lake City, Fla.; and eight grandchildren.

Services were held in Falmouth, Mass.
