Ralph Daniel Morse

Ralph Daniel Morse, a Lab retiree, died Oct. 14. He was 85.

Born June 20, 1924, in Madison, Wis. to Harry Arthur Morse and the former Helen Ruth Newton, he served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946, earning several combat awards in the South Pacific. After the war, he moved to Seattle and attended business school.

Morse worked several years for ADT in Seattle and later in Oakland. In 1958, he began a long career as an accountant with LLNL, retiring in 1986 after 28 years.

He married the former Lorraine E. Neudeck in 1978. They lived for many years in Walnut Creek and then moved to Windsor, Calif. in 1988 in retirement. He was a member and three-time past master of Shattuck-Stephens Lodge #541 (now Bay Cities Lodge) of Free and Accepted Masons, a noble of Aahmes Shrine of Livermore, and for many years, a member of the finance committee of the Lakewood Hills Homeowner’s Association.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; his niece, Jo An Sabatka of Arvada, Colo.; and many dear friends.
