Phillip David Castro

Phillip David Castro died Oct. 16. He was 48.

Castro was born July 23, 1965 to Phillip Sr. and Naomi Castro. He was a Tracy native and Tracy High School graduate. He played football and baseball for Tracy High and also served in the United States Marine Corps.

In 2006, Castro was hired as a contract employee at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. He started with the contract company IAP and then transitioned to Akima in 2010. Castro was employed as a supply technician until February of 2013.

Castro lived in Patterson the past four years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip Sr. and Naomi Castro and a brother Michael Thomas Castro. He is survived by his wife of 23 months, Lily F. Castro of Patterson; a daughter, Stephanie Castro of Mountain House; a son, Kylito Moreno of Patterson; two stepchildren, Pita Corral (Raymond), and Andy Blea Jr., of Tracy; and six grandchildren.

Visitation and services were held last week at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave. in Tracy, followed by burial in Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road.
