Philip Dale Rule

Philip Dale Rule, a resident of Concord, Calif., died May 7, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was 70.

Born Jan. 21, 1940, he was one of two sons of Charles and Palmira Rule. He was raised and attended schools in Jackson, Calif., and resided for the past 44 years in Concord.

Rule worked 40 years as a draftsman for Systron Donner, and also worked for Aerojet and LLNL. He retired from Systron Donner in January 2008.

He was a member of the Concord B.P.O. Elk’s Lodge.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Janice Rule of Concord; children, Danielle Dyer of Concord and Jeffery Rule of Concord; step-daughters Jessicia Braunberger of Brentwood and Jeanine Potts of Arizona; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Rule in 1996.

A memorial celebration of Philip’s life will be held today (May 14) at 2 p.m. at Ouimet Bros. Concord Funeral Chapel, 4125 Clayton Road, Concord. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
