Patsy Corrine Wells

Patsy Corrine "Corky" Wells of Livermore died recently. She was 75.

The youngest of 3 children, she was born Aug. 28, 1937 to Elbert and Ludie Hurst, a share-cropper family in Oklahoma.

While in her youth, the family moved to California in hopes of securing a better living for their family. She grew up in Brentwood where she met her best friend, Alice Vallis, in fourth grade and continued that friendship throughout her life.

She attended Liberty High School where she was the baton twirler, leading the marching band during performances.

Following graduation she attended Heald Business College, which prepared her for a career at the Laboratory where she met Cecil Wells. They dated for a year and then were married on Sept. 4, 1960 at the Church of Christ, in Oakley. The couple resided in Livermore for 55 years.

Wells made many friends at LLNL with whom she and her husband Cecil enjoyed traveling and spending time. They enjoyed camping, fishing and golfing.

She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie; son-in-law, Paul Kenner; and two grandchildren, Ashley and David.

Services were held Oct. 17 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Livermore.
