Patrick Edward Tennyson

Patrick Edward Tennyson, a retired 26-year Lab employee, died Feb. 3. He was 81.

Tennyson was born was born in Agar, SD on Dec. 1, 1931. He spent four years in the Marine Corps and served honorably in the Korean Conflict. He retired from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory after a distinguished 26-year career as a sergeant in the University of California (UC) Police Force.

Tennyson was an accomplished expert marksman while on the UC Police Force. After retiring, he worked at Tennyson Electric in a variety of roles alongside his three sons. After Tennyson Electric, he was heavily involved in St. Joachim Catholic Church in Lockeford and achieved the fourth level in the Knights of Columbus.

Tennyson is predeceased by his parents, Albert and Anna; sisters, Marie, Irene and Veronica; and brothers, Frances, Leo and Bernie.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Karen; daughter, Cindy; sons, Gary and wife, Laurie, Greg and wife, Susan, Terry and wife, Denise and Michael and wife, Cathy; 14 grandchildren, Pat, Jereme, Jenny, Sara, Shannon, Kelsie, Matthew, Greg Jr., Ashley, Dustin, Jonathan, Steven, Catie and Hannah; and by his 18 great-grandchildren, Kaydence, Kate, Gracelyn, Bella, Brayden, Mikaylee, Finley, Max, Macie, Owen, Mckenzie, Braylee, Benjamin, Gary, Gunnar, Tyson, Ryan and Caleb.

A rosary will be held at Cherokee Memorial Park and Funeral Home on Monday, Feb. 11, at 7 p.m. in the Evergreen Chapel, 13823 N. Beckman Road, Lodi, Calif. Funeral mass will be held at St. Joachim Catholic Church on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 11 a.m., 13392 Lockeford Ranch Road, Lockeford, Calif. with a reception following services. Interment of ashes will occur in a private ceremony for family only on Wednesday, Feb. 14.
