Michael (Terry) T. Moran

Michael T. “Terry” Moran of Las Vegas died Feb. 21. He was 82.

Moran was born July 16, 1932, to Viola and Mike Moran in Great Falls, Montana, and moved to Anaconda, Montana as a child. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He attended Carroll College in Helena, Montana, where he graduated with a degree in biology.

Moran was a 50-year resident of Las Vegas. He moved there in 1965 and began his 28-year career at the Nevada Test Site, working for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. After retirement, Moran loved spending as much time as possible in Anaconda, Montana, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and the beautiful summers.

Moran was preceded in death by his beloved wife, of 46 years, Norma; son, Mark; grandson, Christopher; brother, Geary; and his parents. He is survived by his daughters, Shauna and Sue (Kirby) Bigham; sons, Kevin, Dr. Kenneth (Kate) Moran and Brian (Cynthia) Moran; grandchildren, Nick Moya, Joshua and Ty Bigham, Ryan, and Shane and Meaghan Moran; great-granddaughter Lilah Moya; brother, PJ (Mary) Moran; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family; special friends, Shirley Calnan and Sharon Smith; and all his good friends in Anaconda and the Nevada Test Site.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 9 at. St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way in Las Vegas.
