Mayme L. Harp

Lab retiree Mayme L. Harp died Oct. 24. She was 87.

Born August 19, 1924, she was a resident of Livermore for 35 years.

Harp was a witty storyteller and would captivate everyone with her attention to detail and her Texas drawl.

Harp was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. in 1991. She is survived by her children, James Wiley Harp and wife, Becky; Susan Peterson and husband, Kirk, Steven Harp and wife, Jennifer; and Karen Walker and husband, Rob.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Casey Romero and husband, Jason; Jason Harp and wife, Melissa; Matthew Harp, Erica Harp, Kimberly Walker, Haley Harp, Alison Walker, and great-grandson, Tiger Romero, her four brothers and their wives, her sister, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Monday, Nov. 14, at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Livermore.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in her name be made to the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 2020 Fifth St., Livermore, CA 94550, Tri-Valley Haven, Open Heart Kitchen, or to your local food bank.
