Mary Ann Cook

Mary Ann Cook, a former Tracy resident, died July 23 at her home in Hidden Valley Lake, Lake County. She was 69.

A native of Hon, Ark., she moved with her family to Tracy in 1947, attended Central and West Park schools and graduated from Tracy High School in 1957.

She worked at the Lab for a number of years. After living several years in Suffolk, Va., she returned to California and lived in Santa Rosa. In recent years, she lived at Hidden Valley Lake, where she had built a home.

She is survived by her sons, Marten Soares, and his wife Pam, of Santa Rosa; and Bryan Smith of Lakeport; three grandsons; a granddaughter; a sister, Donna Cook Freeman, and her husband Clarence, of Bodega Bay; two nieces; and three nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Edna Doyel Cook.

At Cook’s request, there will be no services.
