Marvin Eugene Lehman

Marvin Eugene Lehman, a Lab retiree and resident of Brentwood, died July 13. He was 76.

Born May 17, 1933, in Stockton to Ellis and Martha Lehman, he was the youngest of three children. He grew up on a farm in Tracy. He married Louanna Grieve in 1955 in Livermore.

He worked at LLNL for 35 years as an electronics engineer, starting in 1953 and retiring in 1988. His entire career was in support of the computer center at Livermore.

Lehman helped start the Livermore First Church of the Nazarene, now called Discovery Church, serving for more than 50 years in various capacities. He mentored many individuals, filling a father figure role.

He was preceded in death by siblings June Hammer and Bernard Lehman and one grandchild.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Louanna; his three daughters, Barbara Sweeney, Janet Emerson, and Carol Presson; eight grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A celebration of his life took place July 20. Donations may be made in Lehman’s name to Discovery Church, 5860 Las Positas Road, Livermore, CA. 94551.
