Margaret M. Elliott

Margaret M. Elliott, a longtime Tracy resident, died April 25, at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson. She was 52.

Born July 7, 1957, in Sun Valley, Elliott was raised on the Sisseton-Wahpeton Sioux Reservation in Roberts County, S.D. She moved to Tracy about three decades ago, where she completed a course at the police academy. She spent 27 years as a protective force officer at LLNL before moving to dispatch for eight years.

Elliott enjoyed traditional Northern Plains dancing and was part of a dance group called The Four Winds. She also enjoyed her backyard Japanese garden.

She is survived by her companion of four years, John Reed of Tracy; children, Tony Elliott of Rapid City, S.D., Anna Gonzalez of Stockton and Robert Elliott of Sisseton, S.D.; and siblings, Tony Fuentes of Tracy and Wanda Gomes, Christine Fuentes, Guy Fuentes and Louie Fuentes, all of Superior, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Pat Fuentes.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. May 1 at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., followed by entombment in Tracy Mausoleum. Visitation will be observed from 2 to 5 p.m. today (April 30), at the funeral home, and a guestbook will be online.
