Leonard Alvin Lawson, Jr.

Leonard Alvin Lawson, Jr. died on Feb. 14. He was 90.

Lawson was born in Ukiah, California on Jan. 15, 1934 to Leonard Alvin Lawson, Sr. and Mary Elise Hiatt. He graduated from Marysville High School, then attended Yuba College before serving in the U.S. Air Force as a radar technician from 1953-1957. Upon his discharge, he attended and graduated from Chico State College with degrees in math and computers. He worked at Sacramento’s McClellan Air Force Base, then in Redding, followed by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Livermore.

Len is survived by daughters Deborah Anne Olsen (Randy; Camas, Washington) and Denise Marie Hernandez (Tuolumne, California) and son Michael Dean (Carol; Wheatland, California), and 14 grandchildren and 13 1/2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sons Richard Allen (Kathy Roddy; Jamestown, California) and Stuart James (Becky; Sandy, Utah), his brother William and one grandchild.

A small graveside service is planned at the Lofton Cemetery outside of Wheatland, California.
