Judy Podesta

Judy Podesta, a long time resident of Livermore, died Jan. 19. She was 62.

Born in Missoula, Mont., on Jan. 6, 1948, she was one of four daughters of Frances and Lowell Shepard. The family moved several times from Montana to Arizona, Southern California and Alaska before settling in Livermore.

Podesta worked at Valley Memorial Hospital in Livermore and then at the Lab. She spent many years as the school secretary at Our Savior Lutheran School and worked at the LLESA Store at the Lab from 1992 to 1995 before retiring to spend more time with her family.

Podesta is survived by her husband of 35 years, Don Podesta of Livermore; son Michael Podesta and daughter-in-law Dina Rafford of Tracy; daughter Kim Pedro and son-in-law Mike Pedro of Discovery Bay; sisters, Susanne Shepard of Oceanside and Chris Demeatry of Southern California; brother-in-law Ronald Colcleasure of Modesto; and seven grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 28 in Livermore.
