Johnny S. Sutton

Johnny S. Sutton, Tracy resident from the 1950s to the 1990s, died at Manteca Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was 79.

Born June 9, 1932, he was a native of Urbana, Mo., and a veteran of the Korean War. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Lab from 1956 to 1995.

He coached and sponsored several softball teams, including Franzi Auto Repair and Mi Ranchito Babe Ruth, and was a member of the Nazarene Church.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Sutton of Modesto; children, Ron Sutton and his wife, Nancy, of Alto Loma, Brenda (Sutton) Burriss and her husband, Tom of Wilton, Steve Sutton and his wife, Diane of Tracy; Neicy Sutton and Marie Holloway of Stockton, and Brad Sutton and his wife, Corissa of Colorado Springs, Colo.; his last surviving sibling, Westly Sutton and his wife, Betty of Tracy; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services were held in Manteca. Burial was in Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery in Stanislaus County.
