Joan P. Accardo

Joan P. Accardo, a Pleasanton resident and Lab retiree, died Dec. 3, after a long battle with ovarian cancer. She was 62.

Born in Oakland, she graduated from San Lorenzo High School in 1965. She recently retired from the Lab after 25 years.

Over the years, she spent her time involved in the organization Job’s Daughters. She also enjoyed volunteering at the SPCA, watching old movies and traveling to South Lake Tahoe.

Accardo is survived by her husband, Bob; children, Stacy, Gina and Bobby; grandson, DJ; mother, Evelyn; sister, Gloria; best friend, Janis; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by father, Melvin, and beloved sister, Barbara.

A memorial mass will be held at 9:30 a.m., Dec. 21, at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 4001 Stoneridge Drive, Pleasanton, with lunch to follow at Beeb’s Clubhouse, 915 Clubhouse Drive, Livermore.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Accardo’s name to the East Bay SPCA, 4651 Gleason Drive, Dublin, CA 94568.
