James (Jim) Albert Gray

James (Jim) Albert Gray died Nov. 22, after a two and one-half year battle with cancer. He was 78.

Born Feb. 24, 1931, in Ventura, Calif. to Rollin and Ethel Gray, he served two years in the U. S. Army and graduated from San Jose State College in 1955.

He was employed by LLNL and EG&G. He retired from EG&G (Edgerton, Germeshausen, and Grierin) 1995, after 30 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Althea; son James and daughter-in-law Julie of Austin, Texas; daughter Laurel and son-in-law Steven Coman of Rancho Santa Marguerita, Calif.; four grandchildren: James and Manon Gray and Sarah and William Coman; brother William Gray of Walnut Creek, Calif., and niece Pamela Erwin of Ventura.

Services were held Nov. 25, in Winston, Salem, N.C. Contributions may be made in Gray’s name to Meals on Wheels.
