Guy G. McMillan

Guy G. McMillan, a resident of Livermore, died Sept. 10. He was 72.

McMillan was born Aug. 31, 1937, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

He was a sergeant in the 1st Marine Division Reconnaissance Company during the Korean War from 1952-1957. He worked at the Laboratory from 1961 to 1997 in Computations, Nuclear Chemistry, and Computer Security.

He was a soccer coach for the Livermore Soccer Club for more than 20 years, and a member of the Sea Scouts.

He graduated from California State University, Hayward, summa cum laude.

He enjoyed wood working, model railroading, gardening, reading and cooking.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; his children, Michael McMillan and Shelly Puderbach, and grandchildren, Kinci McMillan, Devon McMillan, Michael McMillan, Kaylee McMillan, Kera McMillan, Daniel Puderbach, Andrew Puderbach and Laruen Massone.

A celebration of life was held Sept. 19 in Livermore.
