Grace Robeson

Grace Young Robeson, a Lab employee and former Livermore resident, died March 8 in Medford Ore. She was 88.

Born Oct. 9, 1922, in Bainville, Mont. to Boyd and Eunice Whisnant, she was the youngest of six children.

She married her husband Morrie in 1942 in Longview, Wash. They moved to Oakland in 1948, to Concord in 1950, and then to Livermore in 1955.

Robeson worked at the Lab for19 years, starting in the reference library and then for several years, as secretary to Ray Kidder, chief physicist. She retired to Fort Jones, in Siskiyou County, Calif. and enjoyed 12 years of retirement until her husband's death in 1991.

She is survived by one sister, Esther Clark of Talmage, Neb.; eldest son, Gary Robeson of Merrill, Ore.; son, Steve Robeson and his wife, Maggie of Etna, Calif.; daughter, Gloria Mueller and husband, Ed of Hillsboro, Ore.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
