Glen Haggin

Glen L. Haggin of Livermore died April 8. He was 82.

Haggin was born in Marshalltown, Iowa, Jan. 10, 1929 to Howard L. and Edythe Haggin.

He graduated from the University of Iowa and served in the United States Army. He taught school in Iowa before moving to Livermore in 1956 and married Marjorie Seghesio in July 1959. He worked as a computer programmer for 34 years at the Lab.

Haggin was a member of Sons in Retirement. He also volunteered in the restoration of the aircraft carrier USS Hornet and with the Boy Scouts of America.

Haggin is survived by his wife of 52 years Marjorie Haggin; children Claudia Cote and husband Mark of Issaquah, Wash.; Eric Haggin and wife Denise of Dublin, Calif.; Phil Haggin of Fremont, Calif.; grandchildren Lucia and Benjamin Cote, Kyle and Christine Haggin; brother Richard B. Haggin and wife Merna of Waterloo Iowa; nieces, and a nephew.

A private family memorial will be held at Haggin’s request.
