Francois Heuze

Francois Heuze‚ a resident of Carlsbad, Calif., died at his home after a long untreatable illness.

Born in Algeria, he moved to California when he was 25.  He became a U.S. citizen and graduated from UC Berkeley with a Ph. D. in civil engineering. He spent most of his time in Alamo and Danville, Calif.

With an expertise in rock mechanics and geological engineering, he was a leader of LLNL’s geotechnical programs.

He enjoyed flying airplanes, playing tennis and traveling the world. His last years were spent enjoying time with family.

He is survived by his wife, Michele; his daughter, Brigitte Alexander; his son, Chris McMullen; his four grandchildren and his younger brother, Louis.
