Edward Erwin

Edward Wilson Erwin died April 24 in Fremont, Calif. He was 93.

Born Sept. 1, 1916, in Philadelphia, Pa., he was the youngest of nine children.

He served in the U.S. Navy for 10 years and in the U.S. Naval Reserve.

He was married to Geraldine Miller Erwin for 61 years. Over the course of their marriage, they lived in Florida, Hawaii, and Southern and Northern California. In 1957, they moved to Fremont to raise their seven children.

Erwin’s career included work for the Ford Motor Company, LLNL, Heil Equipment and National Aeromotive. He was an owner of Spin A Yarn restaurant in Fremont.

He is survived by children Robert Erwin, Richard Erwin, Randy Erwin, Nancy Erwin Smith, Ronald Erwin, Raymond Erwin and Patrick Erwin as well as 15 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
