Eduardo "Ed" Villarreal

Eduardo "Ed" Villarreal of Livermore, died July 7. He was 59.

Villarreal was born on March 31, 1957, in Durango, Mexico and moved to Los Angeles, California when he was five years old. He grew up in the Los Angeles area with his three brothers and two sisters.

Villarreal received his bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from San Diego State University and his master’s from UC Davis. He worked at many different companies during his life including 16 years at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and 10 years at Medical Instrument Development (MID Labs).

Villarreal, a devoted husband and father, is survived by his wife, Helene; daughter Kathryn (Katie); son Joseph (Joe); brothers Frank, Ricardo, and Daniel; and sisters Guadalupe (Lupe) and Rose.

A service was held recently at Callaghan’s Mortuary, 3833 East Ave., Livermore. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Livermore Library, 1188 S.
