Dennis W. Murphy

Dennis Murphy, head of the Lab's Quality Assurance Office, died Feb. 14, due to complications from surgery. He was 66.

Murphy was born on Jan. 22, 1947 in Lafayette, Ind. to Paul and Martha (Reynolds) Murphy.

He received his undergraduate degrees and Ph.D. from Purdue University.

Anyone that had the pleasure of knowing him knew how "game" he was for adventure. His response was usually "sounds good to me." He enjoyed people, sports teams, running, golf, traveling the world, wine, restaurants, dining and being a true "foodie."

He will be remembered for his generosity, winning smile and his zest for life.

He is survived by his wife, Anita Perry, at their home in Spokane, Wash.; sisters Sharron Parker, Jane (John) Holmes, and brother Don (Deb) Murphy, all of Indiana; five stepchildren, eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
