David L. Johnson

David Leland Johnson of Livermore died April 3. He was 65.

Johnson was born in Idaho Falls on Jan. 20, 1949 to Leland and Mary Lou Johnson. He honorably served our country in the Army for three years during the Vietnam War.

Johnson studied laser technology at Idaho State University. While studying at Idaho State, he was recruited to work for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

Johnson worked at LLNL as a computer engineer for 38 years until his recent retirement.

Johnson is preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Mary Lou, and his sister, Cheryl. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; children, Steven (Virginia), Michael, Eric, Mark and Jennifer (Ryan); four grandchildren and sisters, Linda and Terri.

Services were recently held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Livermore. Internment is scheduled for Monday, April 14 at 2 p.m. at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Rd., Dixon, Calif. 95620.
