Daniel Williams

Lab retiree Daniel Edward Williams of Pleasanton died March 16. He was 81.

Williams was born in Klamath Falls, Ore. He graduated from Butte Valley High School in Dorris, Calif.

After graduation, he served in the Army. He was stationed in Japan during the Korean War, and honorably discharged in 1953.

His education at the Oregon Institute of Technology led to his employment as a computer technician at LLNL, where he worked until his retirement.

Williams is survived by his wife, Evelyn; his daughter, Denise; his son-in-law, Andrew; and his granddaughter, Mira. He also is survived by his siblings, Marie Cline, Barbara Williams, Genevieve Hearth, and Bill Williams; sister-in-law, Patsy Williams; brother-in-law, Bill Riley, and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life was held May 20 in Pleasanton.
