Dallas Ellwin Smith

Dallas Ellwin Smith died Sept. 4 in Lodi after a brief hospitalization for end stage renal disease and diabetes.

Born May 11, 1937, to Dallas Martin and Gladys Mae (Vaughn) Smith in Modesto, he served in the USMC Reserve.

He was a self-employed truck owner and operator for 32 years and was previously employed at the Lab.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joan; daughters, Pamela Webb and Kathleen Smith; brothers, Larry Smith and Richard Smith; and grandchildren, Brenton Slover, Parrish Hudson Jr. and Dyamond Hudson.

There will be no memorial services. Contributions may be made in Smith’s name to the American Diabetes Foundation, 2720 Gateway Oaks Drive #110, Sacramento, CA 95832.
