Clarence Myers

Clarence Myers, a Lab retiree, died Oct. 16 in Ripon. He was 82.

Born on Dec. 18, 1928, to Jesse C. Myers and Edith M. Olson, in Tracy, Calif., he served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952 and fought in the Korean War.

He was a fireman in Tracy from 1953 to 1960 and then worked for the Lab from 1960 to 1978. He retired as an assistant fire chief.

He lived in Cedar Ridge for 32 years.

Myers, whose nickname was Mops, enjoyed working on his truck, camping, and was a San Francisco 49ers fan. He was a campground host for the Oregon State Parks for six years.

Myers is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pat Myers of Cedar Ridge; children, Patti Myers of Folsom; Rich and wife Audrey Myers of Ripon; grandchildren, David, Kaci and Erika Myers all of Modesto; Lisa and Julie Mills both of Ripon; and one great-grandson.

A chapel service will be held at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., Tracy.
